Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards 2016

The Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards are North East and Northern Lincolnshire most prestigious awards held consecutively between Baths’ Hall in Scunthorpe and the Auditorium in Grimsby on alternative years. With a different theme for each year, the Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards host a guest list of upto 500 guests from some of the top businesses in and around Northern Lincolnshire. Award categories include Business Person, Young Entrepreneur, Small and New Business of the Year, amongst many others. Sponsors for the evening include; ourselves The Lincolnshire Chef, supporting with a fabulous champagne reception, Wilkin and Chapman Solicitors, Forrester Boyd, Grimsby Institute, Franklin College, the Business Hive and Grimsby Telegraph.

Our catering brief for the 2016 Northern Lincolnshire Business Awards being held at Grimsby Auditorium was to create a menu that utilised local and seasonal ingredients with a celebratory twist and with the theme for the evening being Grease the musical, something with an American nod.

With almost 500 guests to cater for and a few attendees with dietary requirements, we design as much of the menu as possible to be gluten free. For the canapés reception we served glasses of bubbling champagne, bitesized cheese burgers, miniature strawberry milkshakes and sweetcorn panna cotta served on a sweetcorn tulle with pea shoots.

Starters we pre laid onto the tables for guests to tuck into straight away, with so much to get through in one evening including speeches, entertainment and of course, the all important Northern Lincolnshire Business Award categories. Starters were Alfred Enderby Smoked Salmon, coral mayonnaise, dehydrated apple crisp and for a little saltiness, crispy fried capers.

The main course was a duo of beef served with Yorkshire puddings, seasonal vegetables and creamed potato with red wine jus.

Desserts were a thick and creamy strawberry and vanilla cheese cake, with tea, coffee and cheese to finish.
